This sets up for a SB run this year, for sure. Especially with LaFleur having a second year to change the system.

If Love ends up being another franchise QB the rest won’t really matter, but that’s a pretty big swing to take when we didn’t need to.

That seems to be solid picks to me. Let’s just set aside Aaron Rodgers ego for a minute because I don’t give a rats rear end if he’s upset or not. This draft boils down to one thing. Is Jordan Love a franchise QB or not. I can’t say that he is anymore than you can tell me he’s not. You may think you know, but you don’t. And neither does anyone else. Not right now.

Patrick Queen may be a solid pick. Is he enough to get us over the hump? Not unless he’s Ray Lewis which is doubtful. And he’s certainly not equal to a franchise QB. Now, will he be better than a career backup QB which Love may very well be? Probably. You can play it safe or you can swing for the fences.

I like the Josh Jones selection a lot. But your going to lose Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams in FA next year. That leaves you with only your boy Dexter Williams who couldn’t get on the field last year. Would A.J. Dillion have been available in the third round? I honestly don’t know. I doubt it. But we haven’t had a big back like him since Eddie Lacy.

Is James Proche better than Delvin Funchess? Because they seem very similar to me. Do we really need two?

Is Dane Jackson a better prospect than KaDar Hollman? Again, I’m asking because I don’t see a big difference to what we already have on our roster.

As far as the offensive linemen. I wouldn’t presume to know. Other than to say if we get a starting guard and a backup center out of Gutekunst’s lot that’d be a win. Jenkins will move to center when Linsley leaves in FA. So we need guards.

Your draft omits a DT. I honestly have no idea how we’re going to stop the run next year which is the real issue in my book. Not Aaron Rodgers, not a second WR. None of that drama. That’s for the media and the fans to fuss over. If we can stop the run we can compete with anyone.

Your draft also omits a backup QB if we don’t draft Love. Unless of course you think Tim Boyle can play. I don’t see it. We got lucky in that Rodgers didn’t get hurt last year. In 17 he broke his collar bone and in 18 he had the hip/leg injury. Not to mention the multiple concussions he’s had. Everybody’s man crush is no spring chicken. Your quick to point out that you were right about DeShone Kizer. But you also thought Brett Hundley could play. You missed on that one. Your answer on a backup QB is to sign a veteran. And where’s the money gonna come from for that? Rodgers is costing you 34 million. A veteran QB with starting experience is going to cost you 3 to 5 million. So your going to invest upwards of 40 million on one position? Not smart.

And let’s not forget we wouldn’t have a second round pick to take either Dillon or Jones had we traded for Mohamed Sanu or Emmanuel Sanders like you lobbied for at the trading deadline last October.
