Sullivan a finalist in Jacksonville

Packers vice president of player personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan is one of five finalists up for the general manager’s job in Jacksonville. He’ll interview in person on Tuesday or Wednesday, and a decision should be made by next weekend.

Sullivan is competing against Jaguars’ interim GM Ethan Waugh, Bears assistant GM Ian Cunningham, Rams director of scouting strategy James Gladstone, and 49ers director of scouting and football operations Josh Williams.

Sullivan has been with the Packers since 2003, rising from a training camp intern to being GM Brian Gutekunst’s most trusted voice in the front office. The 47-year-old has been considered an up-and-comer for years and is finally being recognized. The Jaguars are the fourth team to interview him this hiring cycle.

Sullivan’s resume is the lengthiest and most diverse of the five candidates. That could help him, although Gladstone’s ties to new Jacksonville head coach Liam Coen shouldn’t be overlooked. The two spent four years together with the Rams. Cunningham and Williams are both well-respected around the league. Waugh’s been with the Jaguars since 2022 and took over as interim GM after Trent Baalke was fired last month.
